Enough Is Enough. Palin’s 15 Minutes Are Over.

10 Sep

“Spare me the phony outrage. Spare me the phony talk about change…

“We have real problems in this country right now. The American people are looking to us for answers, not distractions, not diversions, not manipulations. They want real answers to the real problems we are facing.

“I don’t care what they say about me. But I love this country too much to let them take over another election with lies and phony outrage and swift boat politics. Enough is enough.”

Barack Obama in Virginia.

    We have serious
problems to solve, and we need
serious people to solve them. And
    whatever your particular problem is,
friend, I promise you, Bob Rumson is
not the least bit interested in
solving it. He is interested in two
things and two things only: Making
you afraid of it and telling you
who’s to blame for it. That, ladies
and gentlemen, is how you win
elections. You gather a group of
    middle-aged, middle-class, middle-
    income voters who remember with
longing an easier time, and you talk
to them about family and American
    values and personal character.
    This is a
time for serious people, Bob, and your
fifteen minutes are up. My name’s
Andrew Shepherd, and I am the
    President.

Aaron Sorkin always says it better. Always.
